About Kyakulumbye Development Foundation

Kyakulumbye Development Foundation (KDF) is a nonprofit making indigenous governmental organization founded in 1992 and registered with the ministry of internal affairs in 1993 with reg.No. 5914/809.

KDF operates in Mpigi and Gomba districts. KDF has got its offices in Bulo trading centre, Mpigi district. The organization has accomplished much ever since its initiation 17 years ago. KDF has been involved in interventions that are geared to improving the livelihoods of the community guided by its mission, vision and underlying values in pursuit of sustainable solution to alleviate poverty among rural households and marginalized people of society in Uganda

KDF exists to improve the quality of life of those living in poverty irrespective of ethnic, political, or religious affiliation. In order to achieve this, KDF has implemented programs in water and sanitation, Agriculture and food security, in addition to advocacy and lobbying in the central (Gomba and Mpigi Districts) Uganda.

KDF makes efforts to integrate community participation in the planning, management, implementation and monitoring of programmes. The participation of community beneficiaries gives communities the ownership of the effective and sustainable programmes


Our Vision

KDF’s vision strongly emphasizes health approach and has focused on the achievement of sustainable and equitable health improvement and well being of target populations in Uganda. Priority targets include children and women in underserved areas who have low economic potential and potential and are in need of development.

Our Approach to Programming

The communities have improved access to clean and safe water as a result of the KDF intervention. This has resulted in reduced incidences of water related diseases like diarrhea, typhoid, dysentery, stomach, among others
